On my way to India!

MeditationAt the end of 2007 my former manager surprised me when he asked me whether I would like to spend some time in India to setup an offshore operation for a client. I didn’t have to think about that and based on my feeling I said directly “yes”. On 7 January 2008 I stepped on the plain to Bangalore to work there for 2.5 months... That was the initial plan. Eventually I worked in Bangalore for 6 months and lived in India for 6 months.

When I look back to my time in India I admit that this was a life time experience. India is, compared to The Netherlands, different, it’s like comparing apples and peaches with each other. Every day in India was a day which offered new challenges and new chances to learn. And I learned a lot about India; I faced myself, the culture from which I came and the view on life. Looking back, I can say I grown as a person.

If you ever have the opportunity to go to India, my advice is to do it! India is a beautiful, depressing, exotic, frustrating, astonishing, confronting, funny and nice country... From time to time you even find all these elements in one situation. If you have the stamina, flexibility, an open mind and respect to the India culture, there are not a lot of countries which you will love as I love India.

In this India part you will find information about my trip to India. First of all you will find a Dutch blog about my adventures in Bangalore. I have also published a photobook with more then 350 photos about the daily life in India. I have also pulished some general and cultural information about this diverse country. I would like to wish you much enjoyment with this India part. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to contact me via the contact form or via the guestbook!
